The Nutcracker & The Great Gatsby: A Jazz Ballet Odyssey

After a complete sell-out series of The Nutcracker at State Theatre from 31st November – 4 December, BIG Live is excited to announce the extended season of The Nutcracker from 26–28 December 2025, bringing timeless Christmas magic to the heart of the city.

Then, from 19 February – 8 March 2026 at the Capitol Theatre, BIG Live presents the dazzling world-premiere of The Great Gatsby: A Jazz Ballet Odyssey — a bold fusion of ballet, tap and jazz set to electrify ballet in Sydney with glamour, energy and storytelling on an epic scale.

Rounding out the year, The Nutcracker returns to the State Theatre for its 2026 season from 12–17 December 2026, continuing Sydney’s cherished festive ballet tradition with breathtaking production and classical brilliance.
